WordPress 7.1 Release Candidate 1 is now available for testing ahead of the scheduled August 19, 2026 release. This build includes more than 145 updates since Beta 4, among them a new Icons API for plugins to extend, shareable revisions for faster collaboration, and email notifications for @mentions.
