1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using WPFolks (wpfolks.org), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our platform.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old to use WPFolks. By creating an account, you represent that you meet this age requirement and that all information you provide is accurate and truthful.
3. Your Account
- You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials
- You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account
- You must provide accurate profile information and keep it current
- One person per account — shared or organizational accounts are not permitted
- You may not impersonate another person or entity
4. Free Service
WPFolks is provided free of charge. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any feature at any time. We will provide reasonable notice before making material changes.
5. User Content
Your rights
You retain ownership of all content you create on WPFolks, including posts, plugin submissions, job listings, and profile information.
License to WPFolks
By posting content on WPFolks, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to display, distribute, and promote your content on the platform and in marketing materials (such as showcasing community activity).
Content standards
All content must comply with our Community Guidelines. We reserve the right to remove content that violates these guidelines without prior notice.
6. Prohibited Conduct
You agree not to:
- Use the platform for spam, phishing, or malicious purposes
- Scrape, crawl, or harvest data from WPFolks without permission
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other accounts or systems
- Manipulate upvotes, reviews, or leaderboard rankings through fake accounts
- Post false or misleading job listings
- Use automated tools to create accounts or post content
- Violate any applicable laws or regulations
7. Plugin & Theme Submissions
When submitting a plugin or theme to the showcase:
- You must be the author or have explicit authorization from the author
- The submission must not contain malicious code or security vulnerabilities you are aware of
- Descriptions and feature claims must be accurate
- We reserve the right to reject or remove any submission at our discretion
8. Job Board
- Job listings are free and remain active for 30 days
- All listings must be for genuine WordPress-related positions
- WPFolks is not a party to any employment agreement between job posters and applicants
- We do not verify the legitimacy of job listings but will remove fraudulent ones upon report
9. Intellectual Property
The WPFolks name, logo, design, and platform code are our intellectual property. The WordPress name and logo are trademarks of the WordPress Foundation. WPFolks is an independent community platform and is not officially affiliated with or endorsed by the WordPress Foundation.
10. Limitation of Liability
WPFolks is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any damages arising from your use of the platform, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of business, or service interruptions.
11. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms or our Community Guidelines. You may delete your account at any time through your dashboard settings. Upon deletion, your data will be permanently removed from our systems within 30 days.
12. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or a prominent notice on the platform. Continued use of WPFolks after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
