Community Guidelines

How to be a good member.

Short rules for posting, replying, and sharing on WPFolks. Read once, follow always.

Last updated: April 23, 2026

WPFolks exists to connect WordPress professionals. These guidelines help us maintain a community where everyone feels welcome, respected, and able to do their best work.

Our Core Principles

🤝

Be Respectful

Treat every community member with dignity. Disagreement is fine — personal attacks, harassment, discrimination, and hate speech are not. We are a professional community.

💡

Be Helpful

Share knowledge generously. When someone asks a question, answer with patience. When sharing your work, provide context. When giving feedback, be constructive.

🔒

Be Honest

Represent yourself and your work accurately. Don't claim contributions you didn't make, inflate install numbers, or misrepresent your availability for hire.

🌍

Be Inclusive

WordPress is global. Respect different backgrounds, experience levels, and perspectives. Write in a way that's accessible to non-native English speakers.

Enforcement

Violations of these guidelines will be handled with progressive action:

We review every report carefully and aim to respond within 48 hours. Context matters — honest mistakes are treated differently from intentional abuse.

Reporting

If you see content that violates these guidelines, please report it using the flag button on any post, plugin, or profile. You can also email our moderation team directly at moderation@wpfolks.org. All reports are confidential.

These guidelines are a living document. We update them based on community feedback and evolving needs. If you have suggestions, reach out on the community feed with #guidelines or email us.

Child safety

We have zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation. Read the Child Safety Standards, which explains what is prohibited, how to report it, and who to contact.
