WordCamp season is here, and venue wifi is about to do what venue wifi always does.

Two changes went out this week that should help.

The app no longer needs an account. Tap "Browse events without an account" on the opening screen and every WordCamp is there: the full schedule, speakers, sponsors, and who is going. Star the sessions worth catching. Write a note about someone you met. If you sign up later, everything you starred and every note you wrote comes with you.

The app no longer needs a connection. While your phone is on wifi, it saves the next 60 days of WordCamps to the device: schedules, rosters, your starred sessions, your notes. Walk into a basement session room with no bars and it all still opens, with a line at the top telling you how old the saved copy is so you are never guessing.

Anything you change offline is queued and sent when the signal comes back.
Two things stay online on purpose. Marking yourself present and checking in are claims about where you are standing right now, and a phone with no connection cannot honestly make them. Rather than replay them later and announce you in a room you have already left, they wait.

It is free, there are no ads, and it is on both iOS and Android. If the app is already on your phone, open it twice and you will have it.

Johannesburg, Brasil and Valencia are all on 30 October. Bengaluru is on 21 and 22 November.

If you are going to one of those, try it on the day and say here how it held up. The parts that break in a real hall are never the parts that break in testing.

"You have to respect the meaning of words and call things by their name, without cheating. It's a question of honesty, pure and simple."

Found in the the community book-exchange box down the street (the French version of a Little Free Library) down the street from my place. I just liked the cover, and I wasn't disappointed with the find (⌒ω⌒).

A paid plugin can keep working while the domain for its checkout or documentation quietly approaches renewal. That is an operations task, but it belongs beside the product, not in an unrelated reminder list. qdBox, one of our apps, keeps project tasks, links and domain reminders alongside Stripe or RevenueCat metrics: https://qdbox.one/iod3912. It's an iPhone, iPad and Mac app for OS 26+, not a WordPress plugin. A practical first entry would be the product's domain, renewal date and the link needed to deal with it.

    Find your people in WordPress.

Profiles, a feed, events, jobs, and snippets. Built for the developers who ship with WordPress every day. Always free.

A note from the folk who built this

I built WPFolks because we deserved better.

We power 40% of the web and we had no central home. We were scattered across Slacks, forums, and platforms built for someone else. So I built one for us.

Free forever. No paid tiers. No algorithm. No noise. Just real folks doing real work, finding each other.

If you build something good, post it. If something breaks, tell me on the feed. That is the whole project.
