Numbers from WordPress.org as of October 18, 2026. Refreshed every day.

  • Active installs are WordPress.org's own figure, rounded down to a bucket such as 10,000+.
  • Trending compares downloads on a typical day (the median day) in the last 30 days with the 30 days before. WordPress.org counts every update as a download, so using the median day stops a release from deciding the list. It includes plugins that had at least 100 downloads on a typical day in the earlier month, or 10 with "Only plugins by folks" on, so a plugin coming back from a closure does not top it.
  • Best rated only includes plugins with at least 20 ratings.
  • Built a plugin? List it on WPFolks and it is ranked and tracked from the next day.
