Attended WordCamp Asia 2026 in Mumbai and joined Contributor Day for the first time.
That was the moment I properly understood what “giving back to WordPress” actually means.
I pushed my very first PR that day. It took a while to get merged, but it motivated me to keep learning and contributing.
In roughly 6 weeks since then, I’ve:
- Reported bugs
- Got 11 PRs merged
- Received credits in the WordPress AI plugin releases v0.8.0, v0.9.0, and now v1.0.0
As someone who spent years only building with WordPress, stepping into contribution felt overwhelming at first.
But the community genuinely encourages you to participate, learn, improve, and contribute back in whatever way you can.
