Join Directly via WordPress.org (Google SSO–Style Login)

Submitted by Dhrumil Kumbhani May 4, 2026

Users can now sign up and log in directly using their WordPress.org account, similar to Google SSO. This simplifies onboarding by eliminating the need to create a separate account and provides a faster, more seamless login experience.

Users can now register and log in seamlessly using their WordPress.org account, similar to a Google SSO experience. This enhancement removes the need to create and manage a separate account, significantly simplifying the onboarding process.

With this integration, users benefit from a faster and more secure authentication flow. Once logged into their WordPress.org account, they can access the platform with a single click—no additional credentials required. This not only reduces friction during signup but also helps minimize password fatigue and improves overall user convenience.

Additionally, leveraging WordPress.org authentication ensures a trusted and standardized login mechanism, enhancing both security and reliability. It also enables better alignment with the broader WordPress ecosystem, making it easier for contributors, developers, and community members to get started quickly.

Thanks for the detailed request! I looked into this and unfortunately WordPress.org does not offer a public OAuth SSO API for third-party platforms. There is simply no official “Login with WordPress.org” mechanism available for external sites.

If anyone in the community has a solution or knows of a way to make this work, I would love to hear it. Please share your thoughts in the comments below!

If WordPress.org ever opens up SSO for third-party platforms I will add it immediately!
