Future events are showing in “Events Attended” before the event date

Future events are currently appearing in the Events Attended section even though the event date has not arrived yet.

Steps to Reproduce:

1. Open the profile/activity page.
2. Go to Events Attended.
3. Check upcoming events like:
   • WordPress’s 23rd Anniversary Celebration — May 27, 2026

Expected Result:

Only completed/past events should appear in Events Attended after the event date has passed.

Actual Result:

Upcoming/future events are already visible in the Events Attended list.

Additional Notes:

This causes confusion because users appear to have attended events that have not happened yet.
