Hi Gautam,
Thanks for flagging this, and apologies for the confusion.
I looked into it from our side and the username on your account is recorded correctly, so there doesn’t appear to be a backend error causing the change you’re seeing.
On WPFolks, every account gets one username change after signup. After that, usernames are locked to keep profiles and links stable across the platform. This policy is the same for everyone, which is why you may not be seeing an option to edit it now.
If you haven’t used your one change yet, you’ll find the option in your profile settings and can set it to “gautammkgarg” yourself. If you’ve already used it, let me know and I’ll see what I can do to help on a case-by-case basis.
Thanks for being part of WPFolks.

Hi Ankit
Thanks for your comment. I added the username “gautammkgarg” on my profile, that’s what I remember. I don’t remember if it was for WordPress or for WPFolks. In my account settings, all the usernames are “gautammkgarg” (X, WordPress, Linkedin). But I could not find option to set it for WPFolks. One thing is sure, I don’t use “gautamgarg” username at any platform. I am not sure from where “gautamgarg” username is fetched? is it auto calculated from my name or what…
