About This Plugin
DateSweep is a date-management plugin for WordPress sites that inherit stale or inconsistent timestamps after a migration, content import, clone, or template rebuild.
Instead of opening hundreds of items one by one, choose the content you want to update, select a date range, preview the proposed changes, and run the sweep in safe background batches. Every run is snapshotted before changes are made, so the exact previous dates can be restored with one click.
What DateSweep can update
- Posts and pages
- Public custom post types
- Published and modified dates independently
- Comments, while ensuring they never predate their parent post
- Draft and private content when explicitly included
Built for safe bulk editing
- Dry-run preview shows current and proposed dates before anything is written
- Background batches handle large sites without PHP timeouts
- Taxonomy and status filters help target the correct content
- Guardrails prevent modified dates from preceding published dates
- No dates are placed in the future
- Only date values are changed; content and media remain untouched
- One-click undo restores the previous state
The free plugin includes bulk updates, filtering, batched processing, a 10-row preview, and undo for the most recent run.
DateSweep Pro adds scheduled daily, weekly, or monthly sweeps, age-based targeting, support for ACF date and date-time fields, IndexNow submission, 100-row previews, and undo history for the last ten runs.
DateSweep is designed for agencies, freelancers, template builders, and site owners correcting genuinely misleading dates after migrations, rebuilds, imports, or real content maintenance. It should not be used to present untouched content as newly updated.
Preview first. Sweep safely. Undo anytime.
